Additional Information
JUTE is a long, soft vegetable fiber grown in the Ganges delta. The plants are harvested annually by hand and the fiber is extracted from the bark of the plant after a soaking process. Delhi is made of a handspun jute yarn and woven on a handloom using completely undyed fibers. The thick bold weave makes for a soft feel under foot.
Flooring made of handspun Jute will contain many irregularities in color, yarn variations and in the weave itself. In addition bowing and skewing is not unusual and should all be considered an inherent property of this type of 'natural' floor covering.
